JUNE08 - 15/15 Film Festival

ImageThe 15/15 Film Festival is a multi-location event based in Australia and coordinated to run simultaneously across the world. Held annually in twenty seven international locations, the festival provides an excellent creative opportunity for filmmakers to make a short film of fifteen minutes or less, all in under fifteen hours ...

Managing Director, Amadeo Marquez-Perez, coordinates the Australian leg of proceedings. He says the festival has “been working and supporting regional and rural communities since 2001. We have established excellent networks with numerous community groups that assist and support young people between the ages of ten and twenty five.

Happy Birthday (2007)

“Once filmmakers have successfully registered, they start organising their cast and crew and get ready for the international filming day, which this year was held on Saturday 8th March. All films entered must feature the 15/15 Object & Quote contained in the Quickies Kits to prove the film was made specifically for 15/15 in that year. Filmmakers are free to present the Object & Quote in any way.”

The quote for 2008 was “Yes, it is quite common” and the object to be used in the films was ‘Keys’. Filmmakers had a diverse response to the brief. Melbournian Genevieve Bailey said “it worked quite well with our film as it was easy to use”. Juan Rodrigo from Puerto Rico thought “the quote was going to be hard to use but we found the object more challenging”.
